The Latin American Journal of Emergency Care (LAJEC) (previously Jornal Brasileiro de Medicina de Emergencia, established in 2021) is a publication of the Brazilian Association of Emergency Medicine (ABRAMEDE) with support from the Department of Emergency Medicine at Emory University and endorsed by the Federación Latinoamericana de Medicina de Emergencias (FLAME) and the Asociación Latinoamericana de Cooperación en Emergencia Médica y Desastres (ALACED).
LAJEC is an open access, free-to-publish journal that seeks to promote emergency care research in Latin America by 1) providing a platform for the publication of academic emergency care work in Portuguese, Spanish, and English; 2) coaching authors about scientific writing through peer-review; and 3) fostering an academic emergency care community in the region.
